《父亲的梦想》剧情简介：影片讲述西北农村一对姐妹彩霞、彩菊怀着改变家乡的理想，盼望通过读书走出大山，未来回乡办学，让村里的孩子都能接受教育。寡言少语的父亲把爱深埋心底，终日辛苦劳作，只为给两个女儿攒下上大学的学费。由于不善表达，姐妹俩一度误以为父亲并不支持她们高考。 高考临近，姐妹决定偷偷步行进城赴考，父亲追上她们后，姐妹才明白他其实早已为考试做好准备。可就在考试期间，父亲为了筹措学费外出做工，不幸重伤住院。面对手术签字与高考抉择，姐姐被迫离开考场，妹妹坚持完成考试。此后，姐姐想外出打工供妹妹读书，父亲却仍盼她来年再考。直到父亲意外离世，姐妹在他留下的坛子里发现一卷卷分别写着“彩霞的学费”“彩菊的学费”的积蓄，才真正读懂这份沉默而深重的父爱。多年后，姐妹终于学成归乡，实现了兴办学校的梦想。
